Drive along rural roads and trails around Macao, away from the usual hotel scenery. Depending on the weather, expect dust, puddles or mud. Wear clothes that can get dirty and enjoy the surroundings while following your guide.

The traditional route combines driving, a Macao Beach stop, a cultural visit and a freshwater cave. Stop order may change to organize the group and adapt to road conditions.

From your hotel to the ranch

Transportation collects guests at their confirmed hotel or meeting point and takes them to the ranch. The team checks your booking, assigns the reserved buggy and explains the controls, guide signals and driving rules.

You follow an accompanied route rather than finding your own way. Keep your distance, stay with the convoy and ask questions before starting. Confirm the age requirements for your option.

Macao Beach

The Macao Beach stop swaps dirt roads for light sand, sea views and coastal scenery. There is time to walk, enjoy the landscape and take photos before continuing.

Macao has surf and waves. Swimming depends on sea conditions and staff instructions; a beach stop does not guarantee safe swimming. Follow the group’s meeting place and departure time.

A traditional Dominican house and tastings

At the traditional house or ranch, learn about products such as coffee, cacao, tobacco and mamajuana. Explanations cover aspects of cultivation, preparation or craft production.

Taste the products offered that day and buy souvenirs if you wish. Purchases are optional. Drivers should avoid alcoholic tastings, and alcoholic drinks are not offered to minors.

Macao Taino Cave and freshwater cenote

Stairs lead into the cave and its freshwater area. The stop offers a chance to look inside and cool off after the drive when conditions and staff allow swimming.

Entering the water is optional. Use the designated access and never jump without express staff permission; a jumping activity or particular height is not guaranteed. If you prefer not to swim, ask where to wait. Take care on stairs and wet surfaces.

The traditional route does not include swimwear, towels, sunscreen, meals, snacks, water or other drinks, professional photography or handicraft purchases. Bring what you need and confirm any purchase before accepting it.
